How much does it cost to rent the hall?
The hall is available Sunday-Friday on an hourly basis at $50/hour plus GST. Saturdays must be booked for the full day (8am-12:30am) at $950 plus GST
What’s included with my rental?
Included in the rental are tables and chairs for up to 200 guests. You also have use of our fridges and freezer and 2 natural gas stoves/ovens.
How many tables/chairs etc. are available?
Qty: 20 tables five feet round seating 6 each. We also have qty 20 – 6 feet by 30 inch rectangular tables and 20 – 8 feet by 30 inch rectangular tables. We have 200 upholstered chairs. Use of all of this is included in the rental price.
What is the capacity of the hall?
The hall is capable of accommodating up to 200 guests.
Am I required to have a liquor license when serving alcohol?
Yes. Liquor licenses can be obtained through the BC Liquor Control Board. They will have full rules and regulations on what type of license you will require based on your event. A copy of the license will be required prior to your event.
Am I required to obtain a license from SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada)?
If you are having music at your event, we are required to collect from you a fee and forward it to SOCAN on your behalf. This amount changes from time to time, so please check the rental agreement for the most up to date amount.
Am I required to have Insurance?
Yes. All renters need to obtain a minimum of $2 million in general liability insurance, naming the Murrayville Community Memorial Hall Society as additional insured. You should check with your broker if you require any additional insurance. A copy of the policy will be required prior to your event.
What hours am I able to rent the hall?
The hall can be used from 8 am to 12:30am, however, the event should be finished by 11:30 pm and the last hour should be left for clean up.
Does the hall have tablecloths, dishes etc. available to rent?
At this time we do not offer any additional rental equipment. Please visit our website frequently, as there are some items we are hoping to offer in the near future.
Is there a designated area for smokers?
There is no smoking permitted in or near the hall. Smokers should gather near the northeast corner of the property. Be sure to provide a place for your guests to extinguish their cigarettes. (bucket of sand, etc)
Is there a set up / takedown service available?
At this time, renters are required to do their own set up/take down.
How much is damage deposit?
$600.00
When is damage deposit returned?
Provided all conditions of the rental agreement have been met; the deposit will be issued by cheque within 7 seven day of the date of the event.
How can I pay?
Payment can be made by cheque, cash or electronic transfer. We do not accept credit card at this time.
Do you offer catering / bar service?
The Hall does not offer any catering or bar services. Renters are required to make these arrangements on their own. However, caterers/bartenders can of course use the stoves, ovens and fridges/freezers.
